The Rec.Sport.Soccer Statistics Foundation (RSSSF) is an international organization dedicated to collecting statistics about association football. The goal of the foundation is to build a large archive of football-related information from around the world. The RSSSF website is maintained by volunteer contributors.[2]
It is considered one of the "most complete" publicly available statistical football databases in the world.[3]
Player of the Year award
[change | change source]The Rec.Sport.Soccer Player of the Year Award was an annual football award that was presented by the organization, to recognize the best player in the world. It was first awarded in 1992, and the voting format was similar to the Ballon d'Or. It was discontinued after the 2005 edition.[4]
