Raúl Rivero

Raúl Rivero Castañeda (23 November 1945 – 6 November 2021) was a Cuban poet, journalist, and dissident. Rivero was born in Morón, Camagüey, Cuba. He supported Fidel Castro and the Cuban Revolution

From 1973 to 1976 he worked for the official Cuban press in Moscow. He also was chairman of the National Union of Writers and Artists (UNEAC).

Rivero died of cardiopulmonary arrest caused by emphysema in Miami, Florida on 6 November 2021, three weeks before his 76th birthday.[1]
