Rafael Bernardo López Aliaga Cazorla (born 11 February 1961) is a Peruvian businessman and politician who was the Mayor of Lima from 2023 until 2025. A conservative figure in Peruvian politics, he ran for President of Peru under Popular Renewal at the 2021 general election in which he placed third.[1][2]
Previously, he served as General Secretary and subsequently President of National Solidarity until the party was dissolved in October 2020 and succeeded by Popular Renewal, which he currently leads.[3]
In 2022, López Aliaga was narrowly elected mayor of Lima, the country's capital.[4]
In October 2025, López Aliaga resigned as mayor of Lima to campaign for president in the 2026 general election.[5] He was seen an early front-runner in the presidential race.[6] However in the first round of voting in April 2026, he came in third place.[7]
