Raising a Flag over the Reichstag (Russian: Знамя Победы над рейхстагом – some sources say Красное знамя над рейхстагом) is an iconic war photograph from the Second World War in Europe that shows the Red Army raising the Flag of the Soviet Union on top of the Reichstag (the German parliament building) after the end of the Battle of Berlin in May 1945.
