Ram Vanji Sutar (19 February 1925 – 18 December 2025) was an Indian sculptor. He designed the Statue of Unity which is the world's tallest statue with a height of 182 metres (597 feet).[1] In 1999, he received the Padma Shri and later in 2016, Padma Bhushan from the Government of India.[2]

Sutar turned 100 in February 2025. He died ten months later on 18 December 2025 in Noida, Uttar Pradesh.[3][4]
