Rasmus Nissen Kristensen (born 11 July 1997) is a Danish professional footballer. He plays as a right-back for Serie A club Roma, on loan from Leeds United, and the Denmark national team.

Youth career[change | change source]

Kristensen began playing football at the age of six with Brande IF. He played in the club for six years then he went on to Herning Fremad. In 2012 Kristensen signed a youth contract with FC Midtjylland.[2]

FC Midtjylland[change | change source]

In summer 2016 at the age of 18 he became member of the first team. He signed af five-year professional contract.[3]

On 7 March 2016 he debuted in a Superliga match against FC Nordsjælland.[4] He came in in min 39 for Václav Kadlec. In his first year he became a important player for the team in the 2016-17 season.

Ajax[change | change source]

On 23 January 2018, Kristensen joined Ajax on a four-and-a-half-year contract.[5]

RB Salzburg[change | change source]

2019 he moved to Austria and joined Austrian Football Bundesliga club FC Red Bull Salzburg on a 5-year contract.[6]

Leeds United F.C.[change | change source]

On 8 June 2022, Kristensen went to Premier League club Leeds United on a five year contract . The fee was around £10 million.[7] He debuted for Leeds as part of the starting eleven in their season opener on 6 August with a 2-1 home win over Wolverhampton Wanderers.[8]

He made his debut for the Denmark national football team on 4 September 2021 in a World Cup qualifier against the Faroe Islands, a 1–0 away victory. He started the game and was substituted at half-time.[9]

Kristensen is the nephew of the former Sturm Graz player Sigurd Kristensen.
