The Singapore Dollar is the official currency or money of Singapore. The symbol of the Singapore Dollar when written is $. 1 Singapore Dollar is divided into 100 cents. There are 2, 5, 10, 50, 100, 1000 and 10,000 dollar notes and 5¢, 10¢, 20¢, 50¢, and $1 coins in use.

  • $1 - means one dollar
  • S$ 1 - means one Singapore dollar
  • SGD 1 - means one Singapore dollar without the dollar sign (used most in foreign exchanges)

Usage[change | change source]

The Singapore Dollar can be used in Singapore.

However, the Singapore Dollar can also be used in Brunei due to an agreement signed between the Singapore government and the Brunei government. Both the Singapore Dollar (SGD) and the Brunei Dollar (BND) are accepted in stores of Singapore and Brunei.
