St Alphonsa was an Indian religious sister and educator. She was born on 19 August 1910. She died on 28 July 1946, aged 35. Venerated in the Catholic Church. She was beatified on the 8 February 1986, and canonized on 12 October 2008 at Vatican City. Her feast is on 28 July Syro-Malabar. She is the patron saint of diseases related to feet, Cherupusha Mission league, India.
