Scott W. Sloan

Scott William Sloan AO (2 July 1954 – 23 April 2019) was an Australian civil engineer and academic. He was noted for his work in the fields of geotechnical engineering and computational geomechanics. He was Professor of Civil Engineering at the University of Newcastle. In July 2015, he was named as a Fellow of the Royal Society. In January 2018, Sloan was made an Officer of the Order of Australia. He was born in Mildura, Victoria.

Sloan died on 23 April 2019, at the age of 64.[1]
