Sega AM Research & Development No. 2[a], often abbreviated as Sega AM R&D No. 2 or Sega AM2 and known as SEGA-AM2 Co., Ltd.[b], is a video game development division of the Japanese company Sega. It was founded by Yu Suzuki in 1985.[1] Sega AM2 is best known for the Hang On, Out Run, Virtua Fighter, Daytona USA and Shenmue series.

AM2's first 3D game was Virtua Racing. It was published in 1992. It was followed by Virtua Fighter and Daytona USA.
