Sergey Vladimirovich Mikhalkov (13 March [O.S. 28 February] 1913 – 27 August 2009) was a Soviet and Russian writer. He wrote children's books and fables. He also wrote the lyrics for the Soviet and Russian national anthems.[1][2]
His sons, Nikita and Andrei, are filmmakers.
Mikhalkov died on 27 August 2009 at a hospital in Moscow, Russia from problems caused by pulmonary edema at the age of 96.[3]
