Shawkat Ali (politician)

Col. (retd.) Shawkat Ali MP (Bengali: শওকত আলী; 27 January 1937 – 16 November 2020) was a Bangladeshi politician. He was deputy speaker of the National Parliament from 2009 to 2014. He was a member of the Awami League.[1] He was a member of parliament from 1979 to 1986 and again from 1991 to 2014. Ali was born in Shariatpur District, Bangladesh.

Ali died on 16 November 2020 at the age of 83.[2][3][4]
