Shimon Sakaguchi (坂口 志文, Sakaguchi Shimon, born 19 January 1951) is a Japanese immunologist. He is a Distinguished Professor of Osaka University, and a Professor Emeritus of Kyoto University.[1] He is known for his discovery of regulatory T cells and writing about their role in the immune system. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 2025.[2]
