Silesians

From Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Silesians are an ethnic group in Silesia which is in south west Poland, and small regions of Germany and the Czech Republic.

The Germanic Silingi, a Vandal tribe who migrated south and west to attack Andalusia, inhabited parts of Silesia until the fifth century. The Celtic Boii, the forerunners of the states of Bohemia and Bavaria, inhabited various areas of Silesia until the second century. It was not until the second stage of the migration period that Silesia was depopulated.
