Simon Shelton (13 January 1966 – 17 January 2018), also known as Simon Barnes,[1] was a British actor. He was best known for playing Dark Knight in the Incredible Games, and Tinky Winky in the BBC children's show Teletubbies.

[change | change source]Shelton was born on 13 January 1966 in Shepherd's Bush, London.
Career
[change | change source]Shelton played Dark Knight in Incredible Games from 1994 to 1995. Simon played Tinky Winky in the BBC children's show Teletubbies.[2][1] He replaced the original actor Dave Thompson who was asked to leave the show in July 1997.[3]
Personal life
[change | change source]Shelton was married to Emma Robbins,[4] had three children, and lived in Ampthill, Bedfordshire.[1] He was the uncle of The Inbetweeners actress Emily Atack.[1]
He died on 17 January 2018.[1]
