Sophia of Greece and Denmark (Greek: Σοφία, Spanish: Sofía; born 2 November 1938) is a member of the Spanish royal family who was Queen of Spain during the reign of her husband, King Juan Carlos I, from 1975 to 2014.

She became queen upon her husband's accession in 1975.[1] On 19 June 2014, Juan Carlos abdicated in favor of their son Felipe VI.[2]
