Spinning frame

From Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The spinning frame is a machine that spins thread or yarn. The machine was made by John Kay in 1764 and patented in 1769. Kay was employed by Richard Arkwright to make a new spinning machine that Kay had worked on with Thomas Highs, but it is sometimes theorized that Kay may have stolen the machine from Highs.[1]
