The State of Burma, was a puppet state of the Empire of Japan during the Pacific theatre of World War II that existed from 1943-1945. The puppet state was a battle field where Japanese and other Axis forces fought the Allied Powers over control over Burma (now Myanmar). The puppet state was dissolved after the surrender of Axis forces in the Pacific and South-East Asia in August 1945.
