StopAntisemitism
StopAntisemitism is a nonprofit organization in the United States that focuses on combating antisemitism and anti-Israel bias.
History
[change | change source]
American activist Liora Rez founded StopAntisemitism in October 2018 to monitor and expose antisemitism online. Rez was born in the Soviet Union, where her family experienced antisemitism.[1]
Activities
[change | change source]StopAntisemitism regularly receives reports of antisemitic incidents, often via social media. The organization reviews the incoming reports and gathers additional information about the perpetrator, especially about their professional background and employer. All information about the perpetrator, often including a photo and screenshots of their social media accounts and profile, is then published to expose them.[2][3]
Since 2019, a "Antisemite of the Week" has been chosen each week, and an "Antisemite of the Year" has been chosen each year.[4][5]
Following the outbreak of the Gaza war in 2023, StopAntisemitism shared a post on social media claiming that Palestinians were editing photos to create fake photos of dead children with dolls. The post was disinformation. StopAntisemitism was accused of participating in the spreading of the "Pallywood" conspiracy theory.[6]
