Stray Kids (Hangul: 스트레이 키즈) is a South Korean boy group of nine members, born through a 10-episode reality program 'Stray Kids' presented by JYP Entertainment and Mnet in October 2017. The boys were picked personally by their leader, Christopher Bang, commonly known as Bangchan/Chan/Channie. Chris was a JYP trainee for 7 years before making his debut together with his team. Before gathering his eight wonderful members with great charisma and outstanding musical talents, the triple threat (Bangchan), became part of the SoundCloud hip-hop and composing group called 3RACHA (쓰리라차) together with Changbin and Jisung, who were also members of Stray Kids. They have given themselves their own aliases: CB97 (Bangchan), SpearB (Changbin) and J.One (Jisung). The three went through a lot just to improve their rapping and composition skills from creating new music from scratch every week for evaluations to uploading their tracks and mixtapes on various sites where they could get relevant and helpful feedback from people who excel in these fields. They started from not being noticed to getting recognized for their hard work. They became each others strengths to keep moving forward throughoutthe journey to stardom.

JYP announced on the 2017 JYP trainee showcase that they would debut a new KPOP group. A group of girl trainees was formed by the mentors themselves while the boys were picked by the leader, Bangchan. Mr. Jinyoung Park decided that they would let Bangchan (finally) and his team debut. But they still had to undergo a test, aka,the survival show. They used their self-composed,-written,-arranged, and -choreographed song, Hellevator, to promote the TV program through a music video which has earned a lot of attention from domestic and international music enthusiasts. Two of the boys, Minho and Felix almost didn't make it to the team but with the help of their co-members and supporters, they were able to debut as nine. The survival show ended on December 19, 2017.

They officially debuted on 25 March 2018 through a showcase called Stray Kids UNVEIL [Op. 01 : I am NOT] at the Jang Chung Arena. The next day, they released their I Am Not mini album with the title track District 9 that broke records despite being just a debut song. They have gained a lot of fans from the survival show, and due to the hype that the people were giving them, the non-fans have started paying them some attention, too. During this time, they have participated in KCON Japan and KCON L.A. They attracted a lot of people when they went to L.A. especially when they were seen in Pride, also known as the LA Pride Festival and Parade- an annual LGBTQ+ pride event that takes place in West Hollywood, California.

They made a very successful first comeback with My Pace from their I Am Who mini album last August 6, 2018. They have gained a lot of new fans during this period, too. They have introduced the official name of their fandom called STAY earlier this month.Stray Kids have mentioned that they have planned this way before they even got to debut. Like before, they also held a showcase for the comeback, Stray Kids UNVEIL [Op. 02 : I am WHO] last August 6 at the Grand Peace Palace (Kyung Hee University). As expected, the music video of the title track also broke some records. Even their album sales was a shocker. They got their first rookie award on the same month in the 2018 Soribada Best K-Music Awards together with The Boyz, Nature and IZ. When the promotions were about to end, they attended Music Bank in Berlin and KCON Thailand. These two events were phenomenal. First, Music Bank in Berlin. Germany loved them. The audience went crazy when they performed not just their own songs, but also their sunbanims'. The emotional part there was when they performed DNA because main dancer Lee Minho used to be a backup dancer for BTS but at that moment, he owned the stage, together with the team, of course. What was unforgettable, too, was when everything stopped to greet Felix Lee a happy birthday, which was sweet and touching. Music Bank in Berlin is the event that will always have a special place in the hearts of Stray Kids and the Stays. And at last, KCON Thailand. We got broccoli Chan (Bangchan with green curly hair); We got THAT It's Raining performance which was astounding to be very honest. The Thais went crazy over the guy with green hair which was Mr. Christopher Bang. And KCON Thailand was insane because of Bangchan. THAT part keeps repeating on my mind while typing this i hate him so much. Aside from these two, they also went to the Spotify event held in Jakarta.

Their second comeback was special. They held their showcase, Stray Kids(스트레이 키즈) UNVEIL [Op. 03 : I am YOU], in a bigger venue (Olympic hall) on October 21st. The album 's title track was named I am You. During this period, they released exceptionally good music videos for the I am You, Mixtape #3 (For You), My Side and Get Cool. The street music video for N/S was shoot in the alleys of Bangkok. You must watch that video on Youtube/Vlive because it's a work of art. Speaking of Bangkok, Stray Kids announced that they would be holding two Unveil events in Thailand and Indonesia on January 2019. The two events are just the start of the Unveil World tour of the group. During this period, Stray Kids received their 2nd and 3rd rookie awards from MBC Plus X Genie Music Awards and Asia Artist Awards, respectively.
