"Substitute" is a 1975 song by The Righteous Brothers and the better known version is the 1978 song by South African all girl group Clout. It went to number 1 in Germany, Ireland, New Zealand and South Africa, number 2 in Belgium, the Netherlands, Switzerland and the United Kingdom, number 10 in Austria and number 12 in Australia.
