Suleiman Mahmoud

Suleiman Mahmoud al-Obeidi (1949 – 6 October 2020)[1] was a Lebanese senior military officer. He was formerly a commander in Muammar Gaddafi's army. He was commander of the Tobruk Military Region. He supported the opposition during the Libyan Civil War.[2][3] In 2011, he was Chief of Staff to the National Liberation Army.[4]

On 6 October 2020, Mahmoud died of COVID-19 in Tripoli at the age of 71.[1]
