Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg is an administrative county in northeastern Hungary. The capital of Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg county is Nyíregyháza. It borders with Slovakia (Košice Region), Ukraine (Zakarpattia Oblast), and Romania (Bihor and Satu Mare counties). It borders with the Hungarian counties Hajdú-Bihar and Borsod–Abaúj-Zemplén. In 2019, 552,964 people lived there. Its area is 5,936 km².
