Hello. In the info box here a motto is given for the town/city of Abbottabad, which in fact isnt the town's motto at all, but that of the Burn Hall School and College (now Army Burn Hall School/College) at Abbottabad. I think if you check the Army Burn Hall College entry on the longer English Wikipedia , you can see both the Latin text originally given by the Mill Hill fathers and its English translation, when they founded the school, in Srinagar Kashmir. As an old Hallian from the 1950s, I know for certain this is so. At no time, since or before, has Abbottabad town had any motto, as far as I can ascertain from various sources. So, this entry here is entirely fictitious and better removed, thanksHamneto (talk) 06:30, 26 October 2012 (UTC)Hamneto[reply]

On second thought, I am removing the fictitious motto myself! Hamneto (talk) 11:09, 26 October 2012 (UTC)Hamneto[reply]

I had also added a footnote here to explain the correct/factual position-- sadly, this stub seems to have been started and just left off in between and the general standard of writing and sourcing is not reliable at all, please needs to be extended and fixed up properly, without necessarily just 'lifting' stuff from the general English Wikipedia. Wrong population number?[change source]

I'm having trouble finding a reliable source for the population of the city. The article states 120,000, the infobox 881,000, English Wiki says 1.4 Million, French Wiki says 148,000, German Wiki says 105,999. I don't know who to trust. Does anyone know where to find such information? Thanks, Yottie =talk= 14:31, 8 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I had a bit of a look, but couldn't find anything that would help very much. The 881,000 figure seems to be a round-up of the official count from the 1998 census of Abbottabad District. So, it's definitely not that. According to this list that census counted 105,999 for the city. That's probably your most reliable figure, albeit very outdated. I'll go with that. Thanks a lot. Yottie =talk= 22:57, 8 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
