The articles and text in the less simple section are quite complicated and not particularly related to addition. This is supposed to be SIMPLE!!!--Filll 01:21, 12 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Unclear?[change source]

Generally, the SE math articles are much clearer than the English ones. I think the first sentence here is okay, but the second one, "the total of two or more numbers" isn't much help.202.179.19.14 (talk) 03:14, 14 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It arguably is too complex for a simple article about addition. I think it is okay that someone starts an article about Addition table:

parentheses[change source]

We have examples (e.g., in the discussion of the associative principle) where parentheses are used but not explained. Although this seems (visually)intuitive to those of us who have been using them for years, it might need explaining. Kdammers (talk) 17:40, 29 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

" larger in value"[change source]

(-2) + (-3) = -5. This is larger in absolute value, but that is not what is claimed. Also, 999+0 is not larger in value in any sense. This statement needs to be corrected (but without becoming hard to understand). Kdammers (talk) 01:43, 31 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
