Details added[change source]

With some regret, I've thought it necessary to import some details. The subject is perhaps the most complex area in molecular and cell biology, and is rarely studied under graduate level. Fifty years ago, it was not known how the body could produce antibodies against the huge number of infectious agents. How could there be a separate gene for every strain of infectious organism? We now know, in some detail, how it is done. However, the details are fantastically complicated. Sorry about that, but it's no good putting up flags saying "complex"! What you see here is but the tip of the iceberg... Macdonald-ross (talk) 08:05, 16 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
