Better consciousness & “who we are”[change source]

The article contains the words: “He also believed that a ‘better consciousness’ could be attained by denying the fulfilment of our desires, taking time to think about who we really are and what we should do to avoid suffering….” Schopenhauer abandoned his concept of “better consciousness” before he wrote his major work. He never mentioned it in any of his published works. It can only be found in his early notebooks. Also, I don’t recall ever reading, in any of his works, any mention of “taking time to think about who we really are.”Lestrade (talk) 14:13, 22 October 2012 (UTC)Lestrade[reply]
