Bias[change source]

I am concerned this article has a pro-Northumbrian/Christian bias due to the sources. Bede's work is known to have a strong pro-Christian/anti-Mercian leaning; terms such as "slaughtering" are not helpful in this article. Also there is an assumption that Penda attacked Edwin because he converted to Christianity; this was Bede's assumption yet Penda's own son's were Christian and so were his allies. The irony here is the quoted history was written by the loser and some 70 years after the event. History is not always written by the victor. Noddyt (talk) 12:10, 12 October 2015 (UTC)Noddyt[reply]
