Use of terms on science pages[change source]

Earlier discussions were held on this topic, and several administrators participated. It was agreed that technical terms were often needed on science pages so that the information was correct and accurate. If it means using terms which are not on the Simple English list of words, then the science terms should either be explained, or linked to a page which explains them.

We do not use loose words like "type" when referring to animals or plants. This is because the reader may read "type" as meaning either genus or species or even family. Where the source says "species" we say "species". Macdonald-ross (talk) 10:19, 6 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Granted my friend, but I still believe [[Phytochorion|flower kingdoms]] that you red-linked has no place in the Simple-wiki! Aliwal2012 (talk) 19:12, 6 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
