Talk:Cryptographic protocol

From Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Only four pages link to this page. The article has no citations. It is very short. No human has changed it in more than ten years. Even though the flags have a date of more than ten years ago. That makes it seem like this page is not very important on this Wikipedia. Also, the idea of the cryptographic protocol is very hard to describe. It is very hard even if you use expert words. That means it will be very hard to fix using only simple English. I think this page should be deleted. Peatswift (talk) 00:37, 20 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I have rewritten it, in part. You might not be aware, but every time you use a Wifi connection, there's some crypotgraphic protocol involved. We can of course discuss how detailed the page has to be. Users don't need to concern themselves how to securely generate or exchange a key, how to verify that the other party is who it claims to be, or that a transferred packet really contains the information it should. It is enought to know that the two parties exchange a (set of) cryptographic keys, and then encrypt the data using those keys. Eptalon (talk) 08:55, 11 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
