Attention direly needed...[change source]

This article needs attention:

  • Domestic violence is a common topic, at least where I live. I guess there are many scientific publications about it. Why don't we have any references?
  • To me the definition looks a bit broad: Common will be man beating up woman; perhaps woman beating up man. Adults beating up children I can still see as a borderline case. But siblings fighting? - probably not. Needs a clear delimitation.
  • The reasons for domestic violence can be various, but mentioning that some mentally ill people resort to it is probably totally wrong. From what I have seen, people with mental problems are more often victims of violence, than they are the source of it.

So, dear community, something to work on. Eptalon (talk) 18:08, 12 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • It's certainly a big topic and an important one. It stands out as being something that, whatever you say, it is contradicted by some other country or society. I wonder whether trustworthy data exists? Probably not for many countries. For example "retentive behaviour by males" is out-balanced in the U.S. by the standard divorce court practice of awarding continuous large amounts to divorced wives with children. And this is one legal result which is definitely carried through with enforcement. It explains the drop in percent marriages in the last 30 or so years. Read Charles Murray 2012. I have re-written the article; there are sources now. I do however not know, how easy to read or complete it really is. While Wikipedia is not a howto, we should clearly point out that it is better to report incidents to the competent authorities. I do however not know in what form we can do that best.
