Election, November 8, 2016[change source]

The election was held on November 8, 2016. The presumptive winner was "announced" at several different times, depending on which network was being watched. Media, however, does not officially announce a US election, they simply report on what is happening as they become aware of it. A given network's announcement, Donald Trump's acceptance speech and/or Hillary Clinton's concession speech are simply modern formalities and have no official status in the election. The person who actually makes the final call on the election results is Denise Roth, administrator of the General Services Administration. Then the electoral college votes in early December and the votes are counted in Congress at the end of December. Rus793 (talk) 16:14, 12 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

US presidential election hacked[change source]

Hilary clintons emails were hacked during the november 2016 elections. Can that be the reason why she lost numerous votes. Banton mhango (talk) 19:53, 7 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

That certainly is the subject of some speculation. At some point, if this becomes proven fact by WP:Reliable sources, then it may be appropriate to add it. But the probability of that happening is pretty low. The Washington Times had an article on the subject [[1]] which said in part: "The FBI, which investigated Mrs. Clinton’s mishandling of classified information, said it discovered some hack attempts, but said it could not say one way or the other if any attempts succeeded. Mrs. Clinton’s server was too outdated, and the capabilities of potential foreign hackers too good to be able to trace them afterward, FBI Director James B. Comey told Congress this summer." I think we need to stay clear of any quantum leaps to connect hacks that experts aren't certain of, to Clinton's losing the election. There are probably a lot of reasons.
