NPOV and Simplify Tags[change source]

First off, let me say that this is a good start on an article. However, there are too many big words for this WP, which is why I added the simplify tag. Also, I have added the NPOV tag for two reasons: 1) it seems to be a little skewed toward a GOP/freemarket way of looking at things; and 2) it's a little too favorable to the image of prosperity. The 1920s were not good for everyone; farmers had a very hard time, for example. Thoughts? Purplebackpack89 23:15, 8 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of Simplify Tag[change source]

OK, so I have gone through the entire article, and I have made complicated words simpler, such as 'manufacturing' to 'making', or 'profiting' to 'making money'. I have therefore removed the simplify tag.— This unsigned comment was added by Atheist145 (talk • changes) on 15:36, 28 March 2011.

Go on, tell us how great it was in 1929... It's no wonder an editor put up flags on this article. By 1929 "The amount of money out on loan was more than the entire amount of currency circulating in the U.S. at the time". So although the economy appeared in great shape, it was actually in a dangerous condition. The undiscussed but horrendous end to the decade is the elephant in this article's room. US is not “the superpower today”[change source]

This is why I added the disputed-discuss tag 2001:818:E801:C000:1997:D65:B4FC:BB61 (talk) 17:44, 14 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I agree it should be changed to "a world power" or something to that effect. But his whole article needs a revamp. There are a full 2 citations on this whole page. EpikGaymer (talk) 11:25, 3 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Please review my change [1]. I hope that it helps to deal with the dispute. Blissyu2 (talk) 12:08, 3 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

"a growing population income"[change source]

What does "a growing population income" mean? Simple.Wikipedia is supposed to be written in English that is easy to understand.Kdammers (talk) 01:16, 4 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

growing household income or basically the income of each family member in a household in a 12-month period Angerxiety+ 14:13, 6 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Is he saying they became richer? Macdonald-ross (talk) 14:01, 7 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Advantages of a change of title[change source]

This page needs rewriting, and maybe it's best to align more with En. What we have on En wiki is "History of the United States (1918–1945)". Or, there is the page "1920s", (also on En wiki) which is fundamentally US-based, but includes other countries. Please give them a look and leave your opinion. Oh I didn't even think of this. Is this effectively a POV split? Maybe it should be deleted and started over? Blissyu2 (talk) 23:21, 7 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Sources[change source]

All the claims need sources. They are not so much wrong as undefined by data. It's an important topic, and needs a rewrite. User talk:Macdonald-ross 13:58, 10 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
