how did Hubble prove that the galaxies were moving away from each other?
- 1. Because the spectra of galaxies showed a shift towards the red end, and 2. Because the further away the galaxy, the more the redshift. The expansion of the universe is an hypothesis to explain this data. You need to read the page redshift carefully, and Hubble's law. Macdonald-ross (talk) 10:01, 11 December 2011 (UTC)
