Confusing contradiction[change source]

On the one hand, the article states that "the electron cloud" is not really "a thing". Yet later in the article it is stated tthat the electron cloud is the accepted model for the atom.

Does that not qualify it as a "thing" ?

It is confusing when two parts of the same article appear to say opposite things.
