Things to append[change source]

I am not sure about those, but there may be other characteristics:

Verse form: Many languages have special forms of verses for these narrations. For Greek and Latin Hexameters and Pentameters are common: Aeneid is Hexameters, so are Ovid's Metamorphoses. The German/Norse ones often feature I think alliterations (several words beginning the same way)
Very often, they were memorized, and sung from memory, by bards. There is a large "oral tradition".
I don't know if it also applies to Epics: there may be a narrator (which may be all-knowing, and not mixed with things)
Often, there are "stereotypical" behaviours: The gods punishments are always very harsh- not to say disproportionate

There is a list of languages, but a carefull search will find out there is no link to regular english wikipedia, though it has an entry with this exact name.Uziel302 (talk) 21:04, 3 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
