Line runs between[change source]
I'm confused. The intro paragraph says "The line runs between Epping and Ongar" and "The line runs between Ongar and Coopersale." Which is it? EhJJTALK 03:02, 7 December 2009 (UTC)
- The 'Epping-Ongar' line runs between Epping and Ongar, however the Epping-Ongar RAILWAY - the preserved railway line now running there - goes from Ongar to Coopersale... does this make sense? Cheer, Goblin 16:58, 7 December 2009 (UTC) I ♥ GoblinBots!
PVGA comments[change source]
- In the infobox: Current services only extend as far as Coopersale Halt, although it is planned to eventually extend the line to a new station at Epping. - needs a reference.
- mechanical semaphore signals - should be linked or changed.
- On 30 September 1994, the line was closed the the public. - well, two times "the" is odd... but still sounds odd.
- nuclear bunker and Doddinghurst should be linked.
- anniversary - should be linked.
- Between 22 January and 9 April 2006 the line was closed for [...] it was not possible to use the station buildings. - needs a reference.
Fixed Goblin 02:19, 3 January 2010 (UTC) I ♥ Nifky!
- award - should be linked.
- The line currently runs an hourly service every Sunday and Bank Holiday. - currently is not encyclopaedic.
- The locomotives are currently not operational. - Again the currently.
- The publisher is missing in some of the references.
I think that's it for now. Good work at all. --Barras talk 21:12, 1 January 2010 (UTC)
TRM's comments[change source]
- Lead is a little short. Ideally it summarises the whole article. I'd like to see at least two paras this size.
- "final section" - could we use "last" instead of "final"? No big deal.
- "branch line" in the lead isn't simple or linked.
- Is "intermediate" simple enough to not be linked?
- Our US/European mates may not know what a Bank Holiday is.
- Coopersale or Coopersale Halt? And isn't it worth a link?
- "who maintain the line" not totally simple.
- Infobox, I think we may need to link things like "locale", "standard gauge" etc.
- Why exactly don't we know the length (i.e. explain the (?))...
- Link electric.
- Not simple when you say "lightly electrify"
- I would relink Central Line in the main article, as you've relinked a few other terms.
- ". New development had been restricted" not 100% simple.
- "independent politician" could use a couple of links.
- "On Sunday, 9 October 2005, the line celebrated its one year anniversary. A large number of people visited on this day." don't need the day, and it's unreferenced.
- Last two paras of "Purchasing..." section are unreferenced.
- "The little-used Blake Hall station, rumoured to enjoy just six customers a day in its last days, was closed in 1981 and converted into a private residence." needs reference.
- Link Finnish to Finland.
- Link vandal.
- Don't mix date formats in the references section.

Comments[change source]
I did not find anything major, but I did find some little things that should be fixed.
- Measurements like ft, in, and mm, should be linked.
- Not sure if this is necessary? Standardised to the same style as Blackpool tramway and Crich Tramway Village though, which don't have them linked. Goblin 14:53, 28 March 2010 (UTC) I ♥ GoblinBots!
- Should remove "London Underground Central Line" from the "See also" section, as it is already linked in the lead of the article
- Date formats are mixed in the references
- Should be consistent when using page numbers in the refs (like in ref 3, it says 281, while in ref 4, it says p. 281)
- The other websites should probably use the {{cite web}} template

More[change source]
- Great Eastern Railway is linked twice. Should be linked only once.
- Same with London Underground Central Line (or Central Line, as it is sometimes linked in the article), Epping (or Epping Station), Ongar, North Weald, Class 117, diesel multiple unit, Coopersale, and passing loop.
- The second image says "Blake Hall Station." The period should be removed because it is not a complete sentence.
I think that's it. Megan|talkchanges 17:27, 29 March 2010 (UTC)
A couple more I just found...
- First paragraph in the section "Early workings" does not have any references. One or two should probably be added.
- Same thing with the second paragraph in the section "Purchase and reopening".
Okay, now I think that's it. Megan|talkchanges 13:59, 30 March 2010 (UTC)
Some more problems[change source]
I haven't reviewed the contents of the article, but I found a few problems after a quick check:
- Ref 18 is dead
- Ref 20 is dead
- Ref 11 is dead
Fix these and I'll move on to the content. Pmlineditor ∞ 15:52, 31 March 2010 (UTC)
- Done - must have come down since I started originally writing it... Goblin 16:03, 31 March 2010 (UTC) I ♥ Meganmccarty!
- Ref 16 is also dead. The content looks good after a quick check, but I'll come back to it. Pmlineditor ∞ 16:08, 31 March 2010 (UTC)
- Fixed. Though it wasn't /that/ broken, the reference is on that page, just not explicitly pointing to it... Goblin 16:23, 31 March 2010 (UTC) I ♥ Fr33kman!
- Link volunteers
- Link justified
- Link terminate
- Link platform
Not done People will know what a platform is. Also, Victoria line which uses the term a lot has no links to it - same subject field. If you are looking at the Victoria line, EOR or any other railed transport article - SE or otherwise - you will know what a platform is.
- Link southbound
Not done It's fairly obvious, and there's others with no links. If you are looking at the subject, you'll know what it means.
- I see very few links to the page; only 3 of them. Note that the article Death of Tina Watson which is tagged with {{orphan}} has the same number of links to it. Since enwiki has several articles linking to this one, I would like to see the number of mainspace links increasing.
- They'll come with time - i'm not creating stub articles for the sake of linking to it, as I create more London Transport/Railway articles they will come. Being orphaned won't stop it from being a VGA as it's not a criterion. Crich Tramway Village, Blackpool tramway and Victoria line are all fairly orphaned except for relevant things that link to them, or from pages in navboxes created for the silly red link rule - you'll note that i've commented the nav box that would take it out of orphaned out. This is all I can find now. Cheers, Pmlineditor ∞ 16:36, 31 March 2010 (UTC)
- Looks good to me now. Pmlineditor ∞ 16:55, 31 March 2010 (UTC)
- Just one thing: isn't 8-car eight-car? I thought numbers only bigger than ten should be in numerals. --Classicalina|talktea 09:00, 7 April 2010 (UTC)
