The eu was formed to economise and modernise travel. to change issues of buying and selling between nations in an effect to meet global economy needs.

"The objective of the EU is to bring its member states closer together with respect of human rights and democracy. It does this with a common style of passport, common rules about fair trading with each other, common agreements about law enforcement, and other agreements. Most members share a common currency (the euro) and most allow people to travel from one country to another without having to show a passport." - this is a bold statement of objectives without citation.

Hello all, Great Britain just left the European Union. This means the article needs to be updated to remove references, and to adapt things like population couts, etc. The most common language in the EU now seems to be German. Population is probably 507 millon, down from 550 or so, one day ago. --Eptalon (talk) 08:32, 1 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
