The complex tag was added a few weeks ago when it said things like "However, such observations are obviously underpinned by hegemonic concerns to preserve the Party's leadership and the supremacy of its discourse of science and modernity." "This is because the Communist party wants to keep its rule. It wants to be able to tell people what to think, about science, and about modern culture. They thought that Falun Gong tried to take this role away from the Party. That is why the Party has acted in the way they did. The Party is concerned with keeping power and control over all of the people in China. Many people and groups outside of China have said that the Communist Party should stop killing and torturing Falun Gong people"

More like the above is the general Western POV of the situation, just as much as is the Western POV regarding the Tibetans. Some scholarly attention is definitely necessary.
