I would like to park my view on Rasputin here. I am Dutch, my English is simple. The article used to be visible on the main Wikipedia, but it was deleted a few weeks ago, being classified as childish. I worked on it for four years. The article has 450 references and attracted about 3,000 visitors each day. I am sure the information was used on the Japanese, Italian and Galego Wikipedia. May be it can attract more visitors here.Taksen (talk) 04:29, 3 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Nonsense with just one source is more important than information? How old are you? It is not you, but the reader that decides if it is useful. Wikipedia is full with administrators, that delete what they have never heard of, which is easier than adding and think that what they don't know is unnecessary. It is not even discussed; deleting became the most popular action on Wikipedia. You prove I am right. Taksen (talk) 06:59, 3 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Taksen: I'm not sure who you're talking to here. It looks like you replied to yourself. In any case, I think the more recent changes you made here may be simpler than the ones before, but they need to be a bit simpler still. You say "I am Dutch, my English is simple," but that doesn't necessarily follow. We have found that one's English needs to be very good in general to be able to write the kind of simple language needed here. People whose first language is not English sometimes make the mistake of thinking that their English is simple because their English is limited. One more note: please be civil here. Comments like "How old are you?" can be taken as insulting or sarcastic and may not be tolerated if they become a pattern. --Auntof6 (talk) 09:08, 3 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Adding templates, but not improving the text? As usual Americans exaggerate. There cannot be a lot of misunderstanding, most of the sentences are short and quite clear. Do these kids not deserve a good article, why wait until someone else does it? Is there a hierarchy on Simple English too? Masters and slaves? After fifteen years Wikipedia is about power, not about information; too many people add fake news.Taksen (talk) 09:57, 3 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Please assume good faith. I tried simplifying and copy editing it, but you were still working on it and I kept getting edit conflicts. Therefore I added the tags so that it wouldn't fall through the cracks. --Auntof6 (talk) 10:04, 3 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Why is that template there. Don't you trust your own English? In this way Wikipedia will not survive when even native speakers are not able to improve the style or grammar.Taksen (talk) 11:26, 3 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

It is there because I was only able to do a little simplifying, I didn't do the whole job. Remember that everyone here is a volunteer and we don't always have time to do everything that's needed. --Auntof6 (talk) 18:04, 3 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
