Simple language description needs correction[change source]

Hello! I am a computer science professional trying to provide readers a concise, accurate description on the purposes and value of a hashing function

I was going to link to the simple.wikipedia.org entry for this article, but unfortunately it contains some descriptive context that is reductive and not necessarily true even most of the time.

HashMap data structure are indeed very efficient, but it would be unwise to say that data is stored with this data structure "normally". I'm also not a huge fan of the immediately antecedent analogy
