Work needed...[change source]

What we have here is a start. In my opinion, the following still needs to be addressed:

  • There are different reasons for migration. The most common is probably economical (people find a better job elsewhere). But people also migrate because of climate change (the place they left can no longer support them, or gets flooded) or other reasons.
  • Migrants are often exposed to crime: they pay most of what they have to other people who get them to another place or country. If they don't have much, they'll aso be exposed to phenomena like survival sex, or sexual exploitation. Very often they will also be defrauded
  • Migration is dangerous: I don't know how many people die/are killed each year trying to cross the Mediterranean to get into Europe.
  • We need to make a clearer distinction between a migrant and a refugee (who is forced to flee)
  • Very often, there's also migration within the same country. Examples of this would be that people from the countryside migrate to cities, because they no longer find a job in the countryside.
  • Well-educated people have an easier time finding a job, it is easier for them to migrate. Yet most migration I am aware of are lesser educated people (coming from war-zones)
  • The images I added are all pre-1950. We'd need more current ones too.

I don't really know if there's interest, but likely we should see that the items above are covered; the list is non-exhaustive, btw. Eptalon (talk) 11:51, 15 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
