Inverse functions are a neglected topic. They are often disposed of without consequence, except for those who must apply them. As a result, chronic defects in presenting the subject persist, and at least two basic approaches diverge, to the confusion of many. One insists that an "equivalent converse" form of a function is actually an inverse of the function. .
