I'm fairly certain that John the Apostle and John of Patmos (which is a misnomer, since he was imprisoned there, he was not from there) are the same person. He is also called John the Beloved, but I don't think we need a different page for that name, just a redirect if anything. --Cromwellt|talk|contribs 19:48, 9 June 2006 (UTC)

I also think that putting Hebrew and its transliteration on this page is a waste of space. The target audience will have enough trouble figuring out the English, so the certainly don't need Hebrew to make things even harder. I recognize that some of our audience will read Hebrew fluently, but we should still leave it out. A more appropriate choice would be the Greek if we must include a different language, since that was the actual language of his name. No person in Scripture has the Hebrew name, whether or not that is the origin. --Cromwellt|talk|contribs 19:59, 9 June 2006 (UTC)
