Simple or not?[change source]

Well, unfortunately, due to the nature of technically difficult topics, it is not easy to make this type of article simplified to an extent that would be understandable to the average Grade 8 student. I study Level 3 University computer science and am learning LZ77 and LZ78, and attempting to simplify it to an extent that a person new to the topic would understand. I am attempting to minimize the amount of technical words as possible while also introducing how each algorithm works. Qwertyxp2000 (talk | changes) 22:48, 22 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Writing in Simple English is very difficult, and is quite a skill. One thing you should look at is the length of some of the sentences, think one idea per sentence. Note that my last sentence actually had two ideas, length and content. However making all sentences short does make it difficult to read too, so variety is good. Let me know if you need advice or assistance, making the SEW simple is one of my priorities. Peterdownunder (talk) 22:59, 22 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Peterdownunder: It would be a good idea if you could review the simplifications so far to the LZ78 part of the page. I have splitted some sentences up into more manageable pieces, which means each idea should take as minimal amount of new information per sentence. Not sure if I am correct, but I would hope for a non-computer-science user on this wiki to read this page and see if they can understand about LZ78 just by reading it. And then a comparison can be made to the Normal English Wikipedia to see if the information there matches with the Simple English Wikipedia counterpart. Will have a look this week. I have zero computer science skills, so I will see what I can make of it.Peterdownunder (talk) 13:09, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
