This is the talk-page for: List of Latin phrases (A)

Created[change source]

This 1st part of the total 20 parts, List of Latin phrases (A), for the letter "A" was copied from English Wikipedia, by long-term user Wikid77 on 27 September 2010, to begin simplifying, or clarifying the meaning of Latin phrases. Much of the wording, about the Latin phrases, is already fairly simple as copied from enwiki. However, feel free to simplify more, using common wording for better clarity, if needed. In the list, each template named as {{Section|...}} was renamed as {{Latinsect|...}} to allow a custom format to be defined to change all 20 lists of Latin phrases. -Wikid77 (talk) 13:18, 27 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Common forms to simplify[change source]

27-Sep-2010: As might be expected, each part, of the total list of Latin phrases, has been explained using a common literary or linguistic style of writing, as copied from English WP. Hence, more simple words could be used to clarify the meanings for general readers. Most of the original wording could be kept, so as to follow the form of wording used by common writers, however, other simple words could be added, as less complex for new readers of English. Beware of some strange or peculiar explanations in a list, because many articles on English WP, in recent years, have gained some odd "text-spam" which tries to push some unusual, fringe ideas or give extra weight to uncommon people. If some people thought that an "unsung hero" needed more advertising, then they might have added text in uncommon areas to try to push for more fame about their favorite heroic figure, popular film, or other pet subject they wanted to talk about more. So, beware of unusual descriptions which need to be fixed for more mainstream wording. -Wikid77 (talk) 13:18, 27 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
