PGA comments[change source]

  • "to" not needed in the 3rd sentence.
  • "After dominating the Latin music charts, winning every nominated award and had signed a tour sponsorship with Coca-Cola" Parallelism issue: need to be in the same verb tense. dominating, winning, signing.
  • I don't think "dominating" or "sponsorship" are simple.
I wikitory the word dominating and sponsorship is wikiliked here on Simple.
  • Same sentence: The first half refers to actions Selena did, but the second half refers to actions her label took. It needs to be structured better to be grammatically correct.
  • Comma needed after Quintanilla III.
  • Starting isn't needed in that sentence. Redundant since "became" and "in 1989" already tell when it started.
  • "The songs..." and "The other songs" What are "The" songs we're talking about here? The ones her band members wrote? It seems odd for you to say they wrote "some songs" but then list 13 albums the songs are on...it seems more than "some."
  • Too many _____ was a duet with _____ sentences in the "recordings with other artists" section. Need sentence variety.
  • "back-up dancer Astudillo" Earlier you introduced him as "band member" not as "back up singer" so something needs to line up here.
  • How is "A Boy Like That" a recording with other artists? It sounds like it was a solo song to me.
  • Polka needs to be linked.
It will be redlinked though
  • Into -> In
  • Then -> than in the 4th sentence.
  • In -> on in 4th and 5th. Songs are "on" albums, not "in" albums. (There are more usages like this later in the same section...all should be fixed).
  • Comma after (1992) in 5th sentence. (and any other time you start the sentence with "In (should be on) ______").
  • Cumbia needs a link.
  • Semi-colon needed between "...song, it also had soul."
  • "It also had soul" sounds odd.
  • Dream pop needs a link.
It will be redlinked though
  • For all mentions of "the song was INSERT GENRE HERE", it should read "the song IS" The songs still exist and still are whatever genre you list for them.
  • The "Disco Medley" was a disco melody song that contained the "Last Dance", "The Hustle" and "On The Radio" mixed into one song, these cover versions were made popular by Donna Summer. A. a semi-colon is needed between song and these. B. Donna Summer didn't make the cover versions popular....she made the originals popular (only of Last Dance and On the Radio, though...The Hustle is another band). C. The should not be capitalized in "On the Radio."
  • "These songs were on the movie soundtrack"" A. Get rid of the stray ". B. What is "the movie"?
  • Comma needed after Jr.
  • What is a "featured artist"?
  • The chart should probably have the writer of each song credited.
  • Overlinking in the charts. Albums only need to be linked once.

A lot of issues in here. The "styles" section seems silly. Why are we listing the style of just a random list of songs? Why those songs? Why does every single one listed there need its style explained?

The songs are considered the most popular of the album and explains the diversity and the difference they are from the other tracks on the album.

Additionally, the use of the en:English_verbs#Past_perfect is inappropriate throughout the entire article and needs to be fixed. Only (talk) 14:06, 27 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I believed I  Fixed the outstanding issues you stated. Thanks for the review best, Jonayo! Selena 4 ever 01:35, 28 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
You still have not addressed all of my grammar concerns about verb tenses. Still don't agree with the writing in the style section. Also, you need to link those words even if they are redlinks; you'll have to write articles to make them non-red. Polka and dream pop are definitely not common words; they need articles. I read the link you provided and I still don't understand what is wrong. Anyway of simplifying it (or give examples)? Best, Jonayo! Selena 4 ever 17:28, 28 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
