Talk:List of rivers of Pakistan

It was generally a good idea to put all the "minor" rivers in this list. However, please consider creating a separate article again, once the info has been verified. Generally I would think a separate article is in order, if at least the following is true:

  • River played an important role in the history of Pakistan (or India, or any territory where it flows through)
  • River forms the border of two provinces, or two countries for at least part of its length.
  • River is longer than like 100km, and it is possible to say more than like 2-3 sentences on it (ideal stub).
  • River is navigable - ships can be used to travel on the river.

Ideally, we only need one of these things, to make a separate stub. Other wikipedias can help decide notablility. --Eptalon (talk) 23:37, 28 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Inclusion in this list was not meant to preclude separate articles but creation of the list did provide the opportunity to gatehr up the information in many many stubs and present it in one place. --Matilda (talk) 23:52, 28 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Ideally, we only have the river once, either in this list, or as stub. If we use redirects, we only need to fix the redirect when a stub is created. In other words: all tohse rivers where you have more than like 3 sentences can be made into stubs? --Eptalon (talk) 23:56, 28 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I will modify to take the content out for rivers where there is an article and leave just the link. That rivers tributaries' details will get included in the river article with just mention too. It will take some time to work on and I have to do something else for the moment - so bear with me. --Matilda (talk) 00:46, 29 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
See recent changes to Gomal , Kabul and Kunar Rivers and their related articles. What do you think?--Matilda (talk) 01:04, 29 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

(unindenting) Looks good, and if we bear with redirects, all we need to do is adapt the redirects for the tributaries.--Eptalon (talk) 08:01, 29 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
