The words 'high' and 'low' are used in the key opening sentence, but they are not explained there. "High" is linked, but it links to the article about spatial height and not sound height. Not every-one can intuit what 'high' means -- especially knowing which "direction" is high and which is low. An explanation (preferably two explanations: both a technical one in terms of physics and one that attempts to get the idea across in every-day experience) should be included up front. The sentence contains a link to pitch (music) which should explain it. But I wonder if the terms "high" and "low" are used for pitch in other languages. If not, it may cause confusion for them, but English-speaking children will certainly understand it. Should we use the word "frequency" or something else?
