Note (for myself, but also anyone else)[change source]

Describing the song will be hard to do in a simple way. Many musical terms are complex, but it is hard to talk about the music itself without them. However, talking about the song is important, since that is what the page is about. I am skipping over this for now, and will come back to it later. 🤘🤘 DovahFRD (talk) 02:05, 11 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Sticks very close to the En wiki format section by section. Yes, it is simpler. I found it somewhat boring (though I'm a fan of the actual number). The sitar was indeed criticised as a copy of the Beetles album which came before. Yeah, the article's OK. though uninspiring. The fact that Eric Burdon released a cover of the song shows it was important, as critics have said. Macdonald-ross (talk) 19:27, 23 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I did take most of the content from the English version of the page, since it is already a Featured Article. I thought that the organization it has was good, so I kept it while writing and translating. Any ideas on how to make it more engaging? I am good at simple writing, but not the best at writing it simple and in a way that is fun to read. 🤘🤘 DovahFRD (talk) 19:58, 23 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Too simple?[change source]

I know it might be an official guideline to use only simple sentences, but this seems really redundant:

The Rolling Stones are an English rock band. Keith Richards and Mick Jagger wrote the song. The song is a rock song. It is inspired by Indian music.

Is there any reader that will actually benefit from breaking up sentences this much? Would people find "It is a rock song, inspired by Indian music" too hard to read? I think it would sound better. Try asking actual children, or new English learners, or people with learning disabilities. I think that's who Simple Wikipedia is for, right? 2607:FB91:112:8C9C:C1F8:CC9C:4C8E:944D (talk) 00:53, 17 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
